Is your cursor a little too slender to see?
For Windows Vista:
Go: Start>Control Panel>Ease of Access Center>Make the Computer Easier to See
Towards the bottom you'll see an option to set the thickness of the blinking cursor. Just set it to the desired width and away you go!
If you're using Windows 7:
Start>Control Panel>Ease of Access>Ease of Access Center>Make the Computer Easier to See
For Windows XP: Go: Start>Control Panel>Accessibility Options. Choose the Display Tab and then under Cursor Options you can set your width.
Copy and Paste Format Only Over & Over Again
Do you like the Format Painter in MS Word and MS PowerPoint?
Do you find it frustrating that when you forget to double click the button, it shuts off after just one paste?
If any of this is bothersome for you, but you still like the idea of transferring just the formatting, I have an alternative to suggest.
Next time, instead of the Format Painter button, try Ctrl + Shift + C to copy the formatting.
Once the format is copied, highlight the text to be formatted and use Ctrl + Shift + V.
Did you spot an error?
Want to fix it right now so you don't forget?
Go ahead, and rest assured that when you're done the Ctrl + Shift + V will still paste your formatting over and over again.
I'd call this the best of both worlds... format painting combined with ability to do other tasks in between the pastes.

HOTKEYS
Today we're going to have a refresher course on Hotkeys! It brought the Win+Pause properties shortcut to my attention. I thought this was so cool that I should take it a step further and list some more useful hotkey shortcuts! So, if your mouse ever breaks, or if you want to impress those around you, make note: Keyboard shortcuts are the way to go!

Win+R - Apply to open Run dialog box

Alt+Enter causes different actions depending on where you are. For example, if you are in Internet Explorer, Alt+Enter will perform the same function as the f11 key expanding IE to full screen and hiding the toolbars. This does not happen in Firefox, Opera, or Chrome although f11 still functions the same way. Pressing Alt+Enter or f11 when you are in the maximum screen mode with hidden toolbars reverses the effect.
I have also found the Ctrl+F4 shortcut very useful. Just in case you don't know, though I'm sure you do, it closes a file but leaves the program running (Closes a Word file but leaves Word running for example).
If you have a lot of windows open, pressing Win+Tab is helpful, but if you scroll past the one you need you'd have to keep hitting tab until you've gone back to the program...which is a little time consuming. However, if you let go of the Tab key but keep holding Win, you can actually hit Shift+Tab and it will start to scroll backwards through the list of open windows.

Pressing F7 in any office program, including Outlook brings up the spellcheck!

Facebook Alt Codes
An Alt Code is a number, or series of numbers that when pressed in conjunction with the Alt key produces a cute little symbol like a heart or smiley face.
Like this:
You can use 'em on Facebook to show some love or just to spruce up your status updates. Alt+1, Alt+2, Alt+3, Alt+4, Alt+5, etc.
Remember, you can only use the number pad to type in the codes, though. The line at the top of your keyboard won't work.
