Prevent one frozen folder from closing all open folders
Windows XP Home, Media, Professional
If you have many folders open at one time and one freezes here is how to close it without closing all of them.
1. Open control panel
2. Choose Folder Options
3, Click on the "View" tab and scroll down and find the option “Launch folder windows in a separate process” - and place a tick next to it and click OK
Four quick and easy Vista tips
1. Access a lot of extra menu options - When you right-click on an icon in Windows, it brings up a contextual menu with extra options beyond just opening a folder or starting a program. When you hold down Shift and right click on an icon, it brings up even more options. From these extra menus you can pin documents to the Start menu, add to the Quick Launch area, start Command Prompts and a lot more.
2. Fast & Easy File Renaming - If you have multiple files in a folder and would want to rename each one, simply press the TAB key when you’re done instead of the Enter key. When you press the Tab key, you’ll begin renaming the next file in the folder. If you press TAB repeatedly you'll quickly jump through all the files in the current folder.
3. Use A Single Click For Opening Programs And Folders - Click Start and launch Control Panel then open Folder Options. Select the “Single-click to open an item (point to select)” by clicking on the button, then press OK. After you've done this, a single mouse click is will open a file or a folder or launch a program.
4. Download movies to Media Center - Most people don't even know they have Windows Vista Media Center - they are so busy with other things. But Windows Vista Media Center is a very useful program if you're one who likes to view movies and video on his/her computer. There is always new content being added to Media Center - so If you’ve kept Windows up to date like we've always preached to you, then you need to keep an eye "Online Media" tab in Media Center. There are tons of new movies and TV shows which are constantly added and updated in the download libraries. So, if you've never bothered playing with Windows Vista's Media Center before and you're a video aficionado, then try it right now, you'll be surprised by the wealth of content you can access with it.

What is a Keylogger?
A keylogger is actually a keystroke recorder. Software keyloggers are malicious trojans that are normally installed on target computers by enticing users to download what appear to be legitimate files. Once installed, a keylogger is difficult to detect although most good anti-spyware and anti-virus programs detect them. Once a keylogger is installed on the target computer, it monitors keystrokes, logs them to a hidden file and sends these logs via the Internet to a server run by criminals. The criminals use the logs to retrieve password/username combinations for financial sites like banks, stock-trading Web sites, and other sites where valuable information is stored. Some keyloggers are sold as commercial software. For instance a parent might install a keylogger record their children's online activities or a suspicious wife or husband might install a keylogger to spy on their partner.
The other type of keylogger is a hardware keylogger which is nearly impossible to detect. Hardware keyloggers can only be installed by someone with physical access to the target computer. Companies may use hardware keyloggers to keep tabs on their employees.
. http://www.dancingpaul.com/ A fun site to go to.
Mygazines is a Web site that lets you browse, share and even archive your favorite magazine articles!
How does it work? Well, people upload their favorite magazines and then you read them! The best part for me was that I could read magazines without registering.
You do need to register if you want to archive or upload anything though. To do that, just click on the Sign Up for Free link on the main page. Simply fill out the form and then click on the Sign Up button.
There's a search field at the top of the main page you can use to search for articles or magazines. You can also use the blue navigation strip to find magazines and articles. The arrow next to the section heading will give you a drop down menu of categories to explore.
I fully recommend taking the tour of the site. It's informative and it really goes through everything step by step.
I urge you to go forth and read or even share this so that others can read. I have been entranced with this Web site ever since I discovered it and I have found myself reading magazines I would probably never pick up at the grocery store. Check it out today!
XP Antivirus 2008
I'm willing to bet that a lot of you started groaning as soon as you read the title for today's Quick Tip. Several of you have been e-mailing me the last few weeks about the XP Antivirus 2008 ordeal, so I figured it was about time I go over it. I know the whole issue has put many of you in a panic, but I have some information for you today that I think will help calm you down. Let's get right to it!
First of all, let me explain a little about what XP Antivirus 2008 really is. It's basically one of the latest scams to hit the Web. It's a fake antivirus program, but it looks so real and it has fooled a lot of computer users. It usually starts showing up after you've downloaded a video (or something similar) that supposedly has a virus attached to it. You are then urged to install XP Antivirus 2008 to get rid of the malware. That is, after you pay for it, of course. Once you shell out your money and install it, it starts popping up false virus alerts and fake scans. It also takes up a lot of your system memory and makes your computer almost impossible to operate.
Now, if you have fallen for this scam, don't feel bad. You're definitely not the only one. It's awful that things like this even happen, but they do, so you just have to deal with them. Luckily, there's a rather simple way to remove XP Antivirus 2008 from your computer. The directions are pretty lengthy and I didn't want to take up all that space here in the newsletter, but you can find three different removal methods on this Web site. The first one is already on the page for you and the links for the other two can be found down below. Just make sure you follow the instructions very carefully and before you know it, you'll be rid of this nasty scam for good!
Are you sick of looking for the manual every time you want to set the clock on your VCR or DVD player? Are you tired of looking for the manual to your printer to see exactly how to replace the ink cartridge? Have you lost the manual to your digital camera or microwave?
Well, have no fear, because Safe Manuals is here! With this Web site, you'll never have to hunt through your paperwork for a manual ever again. Just come here and download it! I’m usually pretty good at keeping my manuals in a safe place, but I got a digital camera at a garage sale that had no manual. So, in order to learn how to use it, I had to find one online, which brought me here!
One thing I adore about this site is all the languages it's available in. You can select your language underneath the orange alphabetical navigation strip. I counted 26 different languages and they’re looking to add more soon.
There are several ways you can search for a manual:
1.) You can use the search engine at the top of the page.
2.) You can use the alphabetical navigation bar to select the first letter of the manufacturer’s name.
3.) You can use the Browse Manufacturer’s section on the right side of the page, which is also listed alphabetically.
4.) You can use the Brand and Product search engine in the middle of the page, where you select the brand and your product.
Registration for the site is free! What does registering get you, you ask? Well, you’ll get your own personal space so that you can save the manuals you’ve searched for. To register, go to the drop down box in the top center of the page and select Register. That will take you to the screen where you can fill out the registration form.
Once you’re registered, any manual you download will automatically be added to your personal space. You’ll be able to get to them via the same drop down box you used to find the registration link.
This Web site is a wonderful utility and I think it will become even more useful as time goes on and we acquire more technology. Enjoy!
