Something Different

Welcome to Patently Silly, a quirky site devoted to patents that are strange, unusual or just down right silly. I can tell you that they are, at the very least, odd. On the homepage, you will find the major parts of the site.

In the Archive section, you can see all of the previous patents archived by category. They are just waiting for you to explore them! Some of the categories are: Food and Drink, Clothes, Accessories, Arts, Transportation and Animals. I can promise you that you’ll find tons of strange patents.

I found the patents in the Transportation section to be especially funny. I mean, haven’t you always wanted arm shades? Or an SUV tent? I also thought the Recreation section was funny. You know you need a surf board with a viewing window, or maybe even a pig shaped swimming pool.

In the Rant section, you’ll find one featured patent. If you click the links in the paragraph, you can see different photos of the mentioned patented items.

There is also a Contact section where you may make contact with the people who run this site.

All in all, I thought this site was as its title claims: “Patently Silly!”

Gmail Signature

To create a signature in Gmail, click on the Settings link at the very top of the page. Scroll down until you see the Signature section. Click on the radio button beside the blank box and that will allow you to type in your message. So, go ahead and type in your signature with whatever you'd like it to say. When you're done, scroll down to the bottom and click on Save Changes.

Keep in mind that your signature will appear at the bottom of every e-mail you send, so if you don't want it on a certain e-mail, make sure you delete it before you send the e-mail. Gmail adds your signature to the bottom of your e-mails in a gray color and it is separated from your original text by two dashes.

Price Hub

With Price Hub, it was so easy!

If you’d like to submit a price, you’ll need to register, but don’t worry, it’s free and painless! Just click on the Register link in the top right corner and fill out the form. They ask for: a username, full name, e-mail address and for you to create a password. Your account is instantly active, so you can dive right in!

It automatically takes you to the page to share a price once you’ve registered. To share a price, they ask you to fill out a form.

This is the information they ask for:

Make, Model, Year
Price
Mileage
Condition
Where You Bought It
Who You Bought It From
Comments
Purchase Date

Then you just click on the Share button and you’ve ub.comadded your data to the Web site. You can then see how your purchase compares to other purchases of the same vehicle. Mine was pretty average for a car.

If you’d like to discuss purchasing or selling vehicles, you can do so on a forum by clicking on the Discuss button. There you will find forums devoted to Pricing, Q&A, Tips and you can even share your Dealer Experiences and Storie
