How I can make certain characters like the cent sign, etc.?
Luckily, I have finally found the solution and I am so excited to share these with you! Let's do the cent sign first. If you need to add the cent sign into any document or project you're working on, simply hold down the Alt key on your keyboard and type in these numbers: 0162. This is what you'll get: ¢ Look below for even more characters you can try:
® = Alt + 0174
© = Alt + 0169
™ = Alt + 0153
¥ = Alt + 0165
Those are just a few you can do with the Alt key and a number code. Keep in mind that when you're doing this, you must use the number pad on the right hand side of your keyboard. It won't work if you use the numbers located above the letters. Also, you can look here for even more ideas and special characters. Your documents will never be the same.

If you'd like to bypass the Windows Vista log on process and remove your password, just follow these steps:
1.) Go to Start, Control Panel.
2.) Click on the User Accounts and Family Safety link.
3.)Next, click on the User Accounts link
4.) Under the "Make changes to your user account" section, click on the Remove Your Password link for your account.
5.) On the next screen that comes up, enter in your current password.
6.) Click on the Remove Password button to confirm everything.
7.) Close out of all the open windows and restart your computer. That will allow you to test the system to make sure your password really was removed.
That's it! From now on, when you start up your Vista computer, you will be taken to your desktop automatically and you will no longer have to worry about a password.to change my passwords frequently for my own security, but sometimes I can’t think of good passwords to use. But with this Web site, I (and you) will never have that problem again!
Password Bird will help you create a password that is unique, but also relevant to you. It’s easy to use and it has a lot of variety, so you can really switch it up as much as you want. Are you ready to get started? Then let's go!
To begin, Password Bird asks you three questions:
What is a special name to you?
Is there a word that is special to you?
Do you have a special date? For example:
What is a special name to you? Amanda
Is there a word that is special to you? WorldStart
Do you have a special date? 04-17-08
Once you’ve answered all three of the questions, click Create Password.
Here are a few example passwords it generated from my answers: 20worama, ama08art and artama13.
If you don’t like the password it creates the first time, you can click the link under it that says “Don’t like it?”
One of the links will randomly generate a new password from the information you provided the first time. The other link will take you back to the main page where you can change the information you gave.
You can also check out the About Us section near the bottom of the page. There you can learn about who made the generator and why!
This is a very handy site I'm sure I will be using all the time. I hope you do too!
Two Tips For You!
Windows XP and Windows Vista
A Windows Explorer Tip - To quickly have Explorer expand all subfolders for a selected drive or folder, just press the asterisk (*) key on the numeric keypad. Be careful if you do this in a very large directory, such as entire C drive, since it may have hundreds or thousands of file listings it may take a quite awhile.
An Outlook Express and Windows Mail Tip - Drag-n-Drop file attachments - Outlook Express and Windows Mail both let you easily attach a file from your desktop (or any other folder) by dragging the file into the message area of your e-mail. It will be automatically inserted as a file attachment. Conversely you can drag file attachments from received mail to your desktop or any other folder.
tip on using the tab key to move from one box to the next when
filling out forms readers might want to know that using shift and tab together will take them back one box if they want to make a correction. In going back the original text is highlighted so they just type the new entry without having to delete the old one.
Quick Quick Launch Tip
Have you always hated adding things to your Quick Launch toolbar? Dragging them from your start menu to the Quick Launch bar isn't often easy because you have to hold down the right-mouse button while dragging and release it jut in the right spot over your Quick Launch toolbar or it wouldn't go in. Sometimes it took 2 or 3 tries to get it to line up right so it would "drop" into the Quick Launch toolbar.
Windows Vista makes it really easy to add things to your Quick Launch toolbar. Try this. Open your Start Menu, click any shortcut in your start menu and right click it, then choose "Add to Quick Launch". That's it! No more dragging things around trying to align them just so - now you can just right-click and go!
Give Windows Vista A Quick System Checkup
Did you know that Windows Vista includes a program that lets you give your computer a really thorough checkup? It does and here's how you can access it right now.
1. Open Control Panel
2. Click "System and Maintenance
3. Click Performance Information and tools
4. In the Tasks list (on the left) click "Advanced Tools"
5. Click "Generate a system health report" (the last item on the list)
Each report takes about a minute to gather information, so it won't take much of your time to run several reports.
User Mobility Center On Laptops
Windows Vista offers Laptop users easy ways to access or disable external monitors, check battery levels, disable or enable a wireless adapter, and lots of other good stuff.
There's one thing to remember: Mobility Center isn't the center of attention that it needs to be on your laptop. You should make it so,. To make it so and configure your notebook so Mobility Center is always available to you, try adding its shortcut to the Startup group by dragging its icon into the startup folder (start menu/all programs). Or better yet, access the Mobility Center by using its keyboard shortcut which is Windows key + X.
