Lighten Up - Video Tip

Have you ever gone to a Web site that has a dark colored background and dark colored text? What sense does that make, right? It makes it pretty hard to see what's actually written there, doesn't it? Well, if you're interested in a way to lighten all that up, I've got just the thing for you today! It's so easy to change the background color and even the text color on Web pages, you'll be amazed at what you can do! To get started, just click on the link below. http://imgsrv.worldstart.com/videotips/index.htm

What is Jott

Jott is a service that is able to convert your voice messages into either an e-mail or a text message. All you have to do is call a special phone number, leave yourself a voice message and then Jott will take over. But let's take care of first things first. You will need to become a Jott member in order to use their services. To do so, just visit this Web site and then click on the button that says "Start Jotting Now." You just have to type in your first and last name, your e-mail address and a password of your choice. Checkmark the box next to "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service" and then hit Continue. You will then be sent a confirmation e-mail to confirm your address. You will need to click on the link in that e-mail in order to finish your registration. (Note: If you don't see the e-mail in your Inbox, make sure you look through your spam folders as well).

Once you click on that link, it will tell you that your e-mail address has been validated and you can then just click on the Continue button. Next, you will be asked to enter in your cell phone number. You will then be asked to call a phone number to confirm it. When you call, you will just hear a short automated message to let you know that your number has been validated. When you're ready, hit the Continue button again. You can then add in the names of some of your friends that you might want to Jott. If you don't want to do that though, you can either click on the "Remind Me Later" link or hit Done.

When you're all done with that, you are now ready to start Jotting! To do so, call this number from the cell phone you just registered: 1-866-JOTT-123. You will then be asked "Who do you want to Jott?" If you want to Jott yourself, just say "myself." If you want to Jott someone else, say their name. It's as easy as that! You can leave a message up to 30 seconds long and within moments, you will receive the message you left either in your e-mail or through a text message, whichever way you chose to go. How cool is that?!

So, why should you use Jott? Well, for one thing, if you're out and about and you think of something you need to do when you get home, you can call the toll-free number, leave yourself a voice message and the reminder will be waiting in your e-mail when you get home. Or, let's say you don't really like to text message on your cell phone. You know, maybe you find it difficult to type with all those little keys. If that's the case, what do you do when you need to send a text to a friend or family member? Up until now, you probably either didn't do it or you forced yourself to deal with it. Well, you no longer have to do that. Just call up Jott, leave a voice message for your friend or family member and have it sent to their cell phone as a text message. As long as you know their cell phone number, it's as easy as pie!

Jott is also a safer alternative to text messaging while driving (unfortunately, we all know people do it!) If you have an urgent message you need to send to yourself or someone else, just call Jott and they'll take care of it for you. That way, you never have to take your hands off the wheel or your eyes off the road. There are so many uses for Jott. Whether you need to remind yourself about something or get ahold of someone else quickly, Jott is the way to go. There are several different uses listed on Jott's Web site, but even more, I'm sure you can think of your own if you really thought about it. As you can see, it's so easy to use and it's beyond helpful in those tight situations!

Jott is currently in its beta stage, but you can still use all of its features without any trouble. It's also 100 percent free to use, so give it a try today

Windows Update E-mail Scam

To begin, this e-mail scam has to do with the Windows Updates that come out every second Tuesday of each month. The hackers involved with this scam are pretending to be Microsoft and they're sending out fake e-mails, telling users they need to install a critical update right away. They give you a link to follow, which takes you to a false version of the Windows Update Web site. You are then presented with a series of links you can use to download the update, but in all actuality, you're downloading a Trojan virus and other malicious patches. If your computer becomes infected with the virus, the hackers can then obtain complete control of your PC.

Now, there are a couple things you should look out for when it comes to this particular scam. First, the hackers usually try to send this e-mail out right around the time when a monthly update is scheduled to arrive. And in case you haven't noticed, we are now in a new month and the new updates will be coming out next week sometime (right around October 9, 2007). So, keep your eyes out for any unusual e-mails within the next week or so, because if it's going to happen, it will be soon. Also, keep in mind that Microsoft will never send you an e-mail about their updates. The updates will always show up in your taskbar and nowhere else. Don't be fooled by a look alike Microsoft image. Like we always say, just use some common sense when you're going through your e-mails. If something looks suspicious, delete it and forget about it. If you do that, you'll be just fine!
