You don't have to highlight the word, just click any place on the word. You can make a word bold the same way by using the B key instead of the U key.Windows XP Home, Media or Professional
1. You can rename lots of files at once in Windows Explorer. Highlight a set of files in a window, then right click on one and rename it. All the other files will be renamed to that name, with individual numbers in brackets to distinguish them. Also, in a folder you can arrange icons in alphabetized groups by View, Arrange Icon By... Show In Groups.2. Windows Media Player will display the cover art for albums as it plays the tracks -- if it found the picture on the Internet when you copied the tracks from the CD. If it didn't you can put your own copy of the cover art in the same directory as the tracks. Just call it folder.jpg and Windows Media Player will recognize and display it.

Arranging Your Windows Desktop
Windows XP Home, Media & Professional Editions
You can customize and personalize your Windows Desktop using several options that Windows provides you to move and arrange your desktop icons.
If you want to position your icons in a specific arrangement make sure you have "auto-arrange" turned off (Right-click your desktop, choose "Arrange icons by" and uncheck "auto-arrange" if it is checked).
You can drag icons on your desktop to a new location on your desktop by holding down the left-mouse button while dragging it. When you have it where you want it, let go of your mouse button. The icon will be in the spot you want it!
You can also right-click an icon on your desktop, and chose cut (or press your control key + the "X" key) and position your cursor in the location where you want to move the icon and right-click and choose "Paste" (or press your control key + the "V" key).
Customize your desktop anyway you like and organize your favorite desktop icons in any pattern you like. The more you play around with arranging your Windows desktop using all the options at your disposal the more you'll learn.

Did you know that you can left-click on that icon to access commands that resize the application's window? Yes you can! And, did you know if you right-click on it you will reveal a number of other settings unique to that particular program? For example, right-clicking on the My Computer title bar icon gives you several extra options.
Experiment with your favorite applications to reveal what secrets that little icon has hidden within it!
The Word A Day by email is free. If a small text advertisement or two upsets you, you can pay a small fee and get just the word sans the ads. It's up to you. I signed up for the free email. Next week I will have seven new words. I'll try to work some into the newsletter. If I can't I'll make some up. Either way, you'll be delighted :)
