Burn Faster!

One of the best new features of Windows XP was the built-in CD burning software. In previous versions of Windows, you had to have a 3rd party software program installed to burn CDs or you were out of luck. Windows XP, burning files to CD is as easy as right-clicking, choosing "Send to" and selecting your CD-RW drive. No 3rd-party software needed!

But, third-party CD burning software applications offer many advantages over Windows nice but very simple, built-in CD burning tools. And, if you have a 3rd-party CD/DVD burning program installed, Windows built-in burning software can actually cause problems with some 3rd-party CD/DVD burning programs - and even slow them down.

If you have Nero Burning ROM or one of the other popular CD/DVD burning applications installed, you can eliminate potential problems and speed up your CD/DVD burning process by turning off the built-in Windows CD burning service.

Click Start --->Control Panel ---->Administrative Tools

Go to the "Services" list and disable IMAPI-CD-Burning COM service

Reboot your computer. And burn, baby, burn!
