Shortcuts for sending emails to special friends

Shortcut To Someone You Like

Do you have a certain someone you're always emailing? Would you like a way to email them without first opening up Outlook Express

First do the following:

· Right Click Your Desktop

· Choose New

· Choose "Shortcut"

· Follow Instructions Below

A window will open: Type: mailto: and the email address you want for instance:

mailto:someone@someone.com

When you click "next"
Give the shortcut any name you like, but make it sensible so you know what it is four months from now.

Now when you want to email that someone special. Just click your new shortcut, and an Outlook Express Compose window will open showing your recipient's name already typed in for you. All you have to do is compose your message and send. It's a great tip when you want to send a quick email to someone you email often!

Copy a URL from Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox
Internet Explorer 5.0 and Up, Mozilla Firefox All Versions
Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP

It's easy to make a typo when typing a URL to save in a document, send to a friend, etc. If the URL you want to copy is on the Address line of your browser, click the address with the right mouse button and choose Copy (or Control + C). If the URL is represented by a link, (this can be a text link or a graphic link) right click the link and choose Copy Shortcut. Now you can paste the URL where you needed it by either right mouse clicking and choosing "Paste", or just click Control + V in the application you want to paste the URL into.

Or, if you just want to send a link to the page you're viewing to a friend by email - click "File" "Send" and choose Send link option in Firefox or "File" "Send" "Link by E-mail" in Internet Explorer.
