Tips about Google and a Bookmark Wizard

Bookmark Wizard is a little program with a simple wizard-like interface that generates an HTML page with all/selected links from your Internet Favorites folder. The links in the resulting page are grouped and sorted in ascending order like they are in your Favorites folder. You can specify colors for links and backgrounds, title, caption, etc., for your page. Also, you can exclude certain folders from being listed. Advanced users are able to edit the entire page template to customize it further. The resulting web page can be used as a links page on your homepage; you can send it to a friend or use it just as a startup page for your web browser etc.

Please note this program is not a HTML to Favorites converter, it can only create a HTML page from Favorites.

Google Is A....
Windows All Versions - All Browsers

Google is a search engine - If you put quotes around phrases you want searched together you won't waste your time by getting search results for each different word. For example if you want to search for information about the Cleveland Indians, put "Cleveland Indians" in quotes. That way you won't get search results about Cleveland (the city) or tons of irrelevant search results about Native Americans or citizens of India. Another search tip: Put a hyphen right before any word you want screened out. If your looking up the word "Bulls" for example, you might want to hyphen-out the word "Chicago" like bulls-chicago. Otherwise you'll get zillions of results for the Chicago Bulls basketball team in your search results.

Google is a telephone book (Yellow and white pages too!) Search for phonebook: best buy grand rapids, mi Google will give you the address and phone number of the Best Buy in Grand Rapids, Michigan. You can do it with names too. Like phonebook: bill miller, grand rapids, mi . Make sure you don't put a space after phonebook.

Google is tracker: Type your package number (UPS, DHL, FedEx) number (digits only) and click "Search". Google will give you a link to the package tracking information.

Google is a calculator. Type in an equation like 4712+245*256=

Google is converter. Type "teaspoons in a gallon," for example, or "centimeters in a foot." Type cups in a gallon or millimeters in an inch or dollars in English pound for example.

Google "The Stock Ticker. Type MSFT or GOOG (or any stock symbol), to see a link to current stock price, stock news, and more.

Google Is Your Store's Computer: Type in the UPC bar code number of any product and "scan it" in Google. See what happens.

Google Is A Flight Tracker & More: Type in a flight number like American 176 to see a map of the flight's progress and departure, arrival and other information. And did you know if you type in an aircraft's registration number you will get the full registration information for that plane?

Google is a DMV: Type in a Vehicle Registration Number (VIN) and you'll find information about the car.

Google is a lot of things. One thing for sure: Google is more than a search engine!
