10-25-06 Tips for the day

Do you have a link to a program that would allow you to print a list of the files in your directories Here are programs that are free.

Whenever you are filling out a Web form that has a drop down list of states, just click on it, to highlight it, then hold down the shift key, then keep tapping the beginning letter of the state you want, it will go alphabetically through those states. When you have the state you want, just stop tapping the letter key. This works great for me, since I'm always wanting one of the "M" states. It works well for those that are down at the bottom of the list alphabetically too! This trick also works for countries, and most any kind of drop down worded lists.

Here's some difference ways to access things that you normally would have to access by going to the Control Panel.

How about "Add or Remove Programs"? Here's another way to get there without opening the Control Panel. Click "Start/Run" and type in: control appwiz.cpl

Want to access Administrative Tools without opening the Control Panel? Here you go: Click Start/Run and type in:

control admintools

How about a different way to get to "Folder Options"? Click Start/Run and type in:
control folders

You say, "what about fonts?"
control fonts

How about Network Connections?
control netconnections

Printers? We got you covered!
control printers

And there's a whole lot more of them you can learn. These are just a few to show you some examples. So explore, learn and try different ways of doing the things you do every day. It's a learning thing. Learning is fun. Learning is good. Right? Right!
